January 5, 2010 — Dr. Kenneth M. Stein, a member of the Heart Rhythm Society since 1997, has pledged to the Heart Rhythm Foundation at the Founder level.
Dr. Stein says, “My career has bridged academia and industry, and I have been proud to help advance the field as a clinician, researcher, and educator. In this vein, I greatly appreciate the Heart Rhythm Society’s global efforts to promote science and education — the Society is singular in giving voice to the needs of patients with heart rhythm disorders. It is a pleasure to be able to support the Society as it continues these vital endeavors.”
Dr. Stein is currently the Senior Vice President and Associate Chief Medical Officer for Boston Scientific. Prior to that, he was an Associate Professor of Medicine and Associate Director of the Cardiac Electrophysiology Laboratory at Cornell University. While at Cornell, he authored numerous publications, with a focus on risk stratification for sudden cardiac death and on optimization of cardiac resynchronization therapy. He also served as a Co-Director of the American College of Cardiology Foundation’s annual Board Review Course in Cardiovascular Disease and as the Director of the Salzburg Cornell Symposium in Cardiology, a program linking leading physicians from America and Austria with physicians practicing in Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia, the former Soviet Union and other countries in transition.
