Rhythms in Time Poster Available; Foundation Drawing Winners

Poster honoring Dr. Anthony Damato and the colleagues he mentored at the Staten Island U.S. Public Health Service Hospital (the first clinical electrophysiology laboratory in the United States) can be viewed online and is available for purchase

June 21, 2010 — This year at Heart Rhythm 2010, Rhythms in Time, (the Heart Rhythm Society/Heart Rhythm Foundation history theater), focused on the work of Anthony N. Damato, MD (1930 – 2001). Dr. Damato was among the first to recognize the development of modern cardiac electrophysiology, arrhythmia investigation and management and trained a group of cardiac fellows who were among the founders of clinical cardiac electrophysiology. An exhibit poster honoring Dr. Damato and the colleagues he mentored at the Staten Island U.S. Public Health Service Hospital (the first clinical electrophysiology laboratory in the United States) was a focal point of Heart Rhythm Place (view online, PDF, 810K).

Rhythms in Time is a component of the Foundation's The Furman Fund, created to honor one of the Society’s founding fathers, Dr. Seymour Furman. While visiting the Rhythms in Time theater at the 31st Annual Scientific Sessions, Steven P. Swiryn, MD, FHRS and Carol J. Gilbert, BSN, MBA, FHRS, CEPS, CCDS were the lucky winners in a drawing for the Heart Rhythm 2010 Full Conference Collection DVD-ROM. Each won a copy of the DVD-ROM, which includes 250 sessions with presenter slides shown as full-motion video with synchronized live audio and free online acces, so it can be referenced anytime, anywhere. The Full Conference Collection DVD also offers 180 hours of CME and CE credit.
